The Nehemiah Corporation of America and the Sacramento CARES Mentoring Movement will join together at the Capital City BLACK EXPO 2010 to address solutions for developing human potential and creating leadership opportunities within the African American community.

The event will occur Friday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m., during BLACK EXPO at the Sacramento Convention Center.

In honor of the outstanding contributions to their community, The OBSERVER Media Group, along with Intel Corp., is hosting the annual “Women of Inspiration” luncheon during the Capital City BLACK EXPO set for the Sacramento Convention Center.

They serve because they have been called to do so. Their earthly rewards are often meager and small.  Yet they are our leaders, our faith leaders, spiritual guides and comforters. 

They set the moral direction for our communities — and give us hope when we are down.  They are our mentors, our ministers, our pastors; shepherds of our communities.  And, they deserve our thanks.

“Tapping our Green Power" is the theme for the 2010 Capital City BLACK EXPO. The theme is intended to enlighten, inform and educate the Black community about the need for conserving energy, economic opportunities linked with the Green economy and the billions of dollars in funds targeting green economy growth.

The salute to 30 outstanding young professionals, set as a part of the attractions of BLACK EXPO 2010, will be keynoted by one of the country’s youngest and brightest emerging business stars. Jerome Love, inspirational speaker, business leader and author, will be the guest speaker at The BLACK EXPO’s annual Community Breakfast. The Breakfast also serves as the event set aside to honor 30 regional young leaders, all under the age of 30 years of age.

Local mentor Kanisha Allen has been selected by the OBSERVER Media Group as its Miss BLACK EXPO 2010. As “queen of the Expo” Ms. Allen will participate in a number of events activities at the 2010 Capital City BLACK EXPO, being held at the Sacramento Convention Center February 19-21.
